The Cruse scanner provides a unique way of digitising cultural objects. Due to its configuration there is no physical contact between the surface of the object and the mechanical and optical parts of the scanner.
This means that it can be safely used to digitise the most fragile objects. It has been used to scan, large paper objects such as maps and plans, large rolls of textile, framed paintings, wooden boards and swords amongst many other fine art objects Resolution, subject thickness, light clearance height and light angle can all be adjusted to achieve the optimum result. The Cruse scanner proves itself to be the perfect tool for the digitisation of cultural objects.
